Default Which 30cc engine and airframe?

I flew 50cc planes for a few years and got out of the hobby for a while. I flew a DA 50 and loved it. Now I want to get back in to things and am considering a 30cc class model and engine. No idea which one to get.

I prefer a Edge 540, Extra 260 or Yak Mid wing type planes. I IMAC and 3d with my planes.

Which engine is the most powe at 30cc

Which airframes are holding up to the test of time?

Not to concerned about cost, Mostly size limited now that I have smaller vehicles.

Syssa and DLE are the two 30cc contenders. Syssa is made in the USA and you can talk to the maker.

There is allot of incfo on the DLA, but not much on the Syssa, I like the US Made option but is it a good engine?

It's a great engine. I don't own one yet but I have flown one on a buddy's plane.
There is a huge thread here: [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8862472/anchors_10665626/mpage_161/key_/anchor/tm.htm#10665626]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8862472/anchors_10665626/mpage_161/key_/anchor/tm.htm#10665626[/link]

Another plane you shouldn't overlook is the SBach in the 25% size (30CC) this is a really sexy looking airplane that flys super. I had the 50CC plane and was very satisfied with the performance. And it's an excellent value.
Here's a link.

This is not the Edge 540, Extra 260 or Yak Mid wing type plane you mentioned but EF makes a very nice Extra 300 that fits your need for IMAC and 3D in the 30cc class.

I am finishing my first 30cc gasser and decided on a wildhare babyedge 540.its set up for a dle30 but you could just as easily install a sysassa 30..these are the top 2 choices for 30cc.just a matter of your budget and preference.the plane is on a par with aeroworks 30cc .both are about 10 to 10.5 pounds and come complete.both are great quality.

I also looked long and hard at goldwing rc.price is good at 300.a friend bought the 50cc and it not only looked awesome flying was great.

+++ I agree with Kerwin50, I've flown my friends MX2 and it's a great buy at $250.

i have an mx2.... the body is similar to and Edge 540 and the wing is like an Extra 260..arguably two of the best flying models around.... its an awesome flying plane i got mine from Aztec Aeromodels http://www.shop.aztechaeromodels.com...-EGA30-MX2.htm

I saw some one mention Baby Edge from Wild Hare.... ive had both the baby 260 and 540.... my 540 had terrible coupling issues... the 260 OTOH flew like a big boy(120ax) I miss that plane... the only problem is it comes with crap hardware if you dont pay extra for the hardware package ......unlike EG Models, all the hardware is usable, plus you get carbon fiber all around....

Ive had nothing but good luck from DL/DLE engines... i hear Syssa makes a good 30 too
