Hi,
I have been considering purchasing a large scale profile for fun fly and learning 3-D. The two I have considered so far the Morris Hobbies 1.20 su-do-khoi or the Aeroworks 91/1.20 profile. Both of these have about 80" wing spans.
First is there any other choices out there that I'm not aware of? Or out of the two listed which is the prefered?
From what I have read, these should be excellent 3-D trainers?
Would it be advisable to strengthen the profile fuse or wing with carbon fiber or kevlar threads during the build? I do crash on occasion!
Is a moki 1.80 or 2.10 too much? I have an old YS 1.20, will this be too little?
Thanks for any replies,
Mitch

1.20 Su-do-khoi? Do you mean the Giant Su-do-Khoi? If so, your old YS will not be enough power to really have fun with this airplane. I flew mine (and loved it) with the MOkI 2.10. You might also consider a lighter gasoline engine like the BME 44/50. The MOKI 1.8 works, but not as well as the 2.10. I have no experiance with the Aeroworks kit.

I have a Giant Su do Koi. I have had a Moki 1.8 and a 2.1 on it. I am using them with a MACs quite pipe on it. I would go with the 2.1, more power the better :-). The YS 120 won't get it. BTW the plane is a blast to fly but I can't say much good about the kit.

I second the vote for the giant omp yak. I have one with a mvvs 2.15 gas with pipe, and love it. I have flown a big su-do-khoi with a moki 180 with pipe, and it by noe means compares to the big edge. Its a good plane, and flies very well, but the edge is more capable. I have flown, several 60 size sudokhoi, and a couple different 40 size, and they all fly about the same. The newer style edges are far better airplanes. IMHO. If you want to build you can't go wrong with the big omp edge.

Thanks everbody for the replies. I like the looks and construction of the OMP planes. Just need to decide whether to go big with the Yak or really big with the Edge 540.
