An isolator allows the use of 2 batteries. One for servos and one for the reciever. Here's a link to I4C products, has some info on the isolator.

Thanks Cap! How effecient are these units. Would you suggest running one on a H9 330L Extra? I am running 2 1400 mah Jr batteries which are y together into the reciever (redundency) and a 1200 mah to the ignition.

You do not need to use a Y-Harness if you have an extra servo connection available on the reciever. Just plug the battery into an available servo port and you are good. Just one less point of failure in my opinion...
