ok I figure I'll ask the experts on this one since I can't seem to get it right.

When setting up a plane for 3D where do most of you find the magic sweet spot when it comes to balance? I notice that if I have it to far aft the plane wants to climb out all the time and I have a hard time keeping it down, it also wants to stand on it's tail more readily(no surprise there). On the other hand if it's abit nose heavy it seems like you can use the elevator to hold the tail down and the plane doesn't seem to want to climb quite as bad.

I'm experimenting with my OMP edge 540FF w/saito .72, balanceed 2" behind the spar.I also have a UCD 60 w/Saito 100, balanced 6" back and both seem to exhibit the same habits. The edge runs an APC 14x4W prop and the UCD has a 16x4W. The props are great for hovering but in a harrier the planes both seem to be a bear to get them to either descend or more straight ahead, they always want to climb or nose up into a hover.

If it's climbing, don't hold in so much elevator and/or not so much throttle.

Try some spoileron, too. That might help keep the nose down and give you extra stability to boot!
