Default Radio selection help.

OK guys I have to bite the bullit and get a radio that will do all the mixing I need. The JR642 is my best radio. I'm stuck between the JR8103 and the Futaba 9C. I had pretty much decided on the 9C. I liked the triple rates and more than one rudder rate. Then I saw what seems to be to good to be true on the Horizon site and in Cheif Aircrafts add.
A 8103 with R700 rec and 4-digital servos for $379. What Am I missing????
I am sure the regular 8103 (not on sale) has a better RX but which one. The Horizon site dosn't say. The servos are DS811 which sell for $48. each. Thats $200. for nothing.
Can anybody shed some light on this.
Thanks David

The promo deal is true - no strings, other than you'll have slightly less capability than the 9C. However, since you already have JR gear, you'll be able to use your current flight packs with the 8103.

I wonder, though, about the quality of JR's receviers seeing as they'er single-conversion... They must be all-right or people wouldn't buy them, I suppose.

Does that 8103 have Digital Trims? If so I would consider it-

I have flown both and prefer the 9C

I think the 8103 has digital trims on all but the throttle.

I like the 8103 promo pack. I bought one about a month ago.. I had a JR 783 that I had for 4years, then a 642 before that. The 8103promo pack is a great deal. It doesn't come with the PCM RX. But you can always get a 770 for $99 w/ crystal from horizon. That is still cheaper than buying the regular 8103 and you get better servos.

Yes the 8103 does have digital trims on everything except throttle. Throttle still has the click style trim. Also the 8103 has 2 multi point mixes. Their 378 doesn't have that.

The reason I think the 8103 promo pack is out. I have read rumors that JR has already released a 9X in Japan, and should hit the states sometime in the future. The 9X is suppose to compete w/ the futuba 9 channel. Also the 9X has alot of features that the JR 10X has like triple rates and other things. If I am not mistake then 9X TX would still cost around $550. But I am not for sure on the price. I was going to wait it out until the 9X hit the states. But I then read that the price was going to be well above $500 just for the TX, so I bought the 8103 instead w/ a full flight pack for less.
