Default DP 120size Ultimate

Im finally going to be ordering one of these from Chief Aircraft since I need an engine from them. I have a YS 140L sitting in the box that I never used that will go in it. Is this plenty for the Ultimate? Will it fly 3D and hover no problem and accerate out of a hover vertical? An email from Dave patrick said that the YS 140 is overkill go it, but i like power and would want it to have vertical and 3D.

If Dave is of the opinion the engine is overkill he certainly would know. On the other hand if a suitable engine was on my shelf it certainly would be used. Just remember to use the throttle and don't overspeed the plane.

I have an OS 160 in mine and It is about right to me. I would use the 140 without hesitation. Just use a good mount and maybe brace the firewall a bit. You will be nose heavy with that motor. Plan radio and battery back as far as possible. I was nose heavy with the 160

By no means is the 140L overkill on the DP Ultimate. It is an excellent combination with good pull. It hovers easily, pulls out well, and is definately not overkill. Certain maneuvers would be better performed with a bit more power, perhaps the DZ.

Since the Ultimate has 4 aileron servos, 1 for each aileron is it ok to use servos that have 50oz of torq on 6volt battery pack on each aileron? Or do i need bigger servos for the ailerons. For the rudder and elevator I have sevros that have 92 oz of torq for 6V.
Just wondering if those aileron servos are stong enough since its a bigger plane. I dont want them to die out on me. I want this plane to perform well.
