Default Funtana 40 question

I am in the process of putting the ARF version together and have a question. The wheel pants are killing me! Do you need to make the slot bigger than it is so it sits against the gear and accepts the nut that is on the wheel axle - so that the screw that goes in to the wheel pant actually holds it from moving, or is it supposed to rotate? The slot that is there now is to small to accept the nut and has the wheel pant resting against the wheel axle nut. The screw that goes in to the wheel pant to hold it on does not stop it from rotating back and forth in this manner. The cut out is also a little small for the wheel - have any of you found this as well? Please help!!!!!

Yes, you need to enlarge the slot so the pant fits flush against the leg of the gear. Use a dremel with the large size sanding drum. It makes a circular hole just the right size to clear the axle bolt.

Yes, you have to open the slot up with a small bit or small drum sander, which is what I used. The pants are supposed to set against the gear. When you get the slot opened, stick something of the right size between the rear / bottom of the wheel pant and the bench. I used a piece of slotted landing gear stock. This will get the pant at the correct angle (your preference) on both wheel pants, and using the brace will make drilling the pilot hole a little less of an event.
