I am looking for a good Edge 540 that will handle a DA 50. Any suggestions in a really good ARF? We where looking at the Dave Patricks Edge but they dont recommend any gas engine on it. Thanks for your replys.

I won't bother commenting on DP....
Wild Hare has a new one that will be shipping out in just a couple of weeks that should be AWESOME.....
There is always the H9, but this combo may be a bit heavy.

I know that Wildhare and Extreme planes are excellent, but I do not own them so I can not comment on experience. However, I do have a pair of DP Edge540T's that I am reviewing for Fly RC and RCUniverse. One has a Moki 180 and the other a ZDZ40. I would not think twice about this plane - It is one of the best quality ARF's I have built yet! There is a lot of flexability with servo positions to help you obtain the proper setup and CG for your powerplant. Either of these engines will fly the plane with authority, 3D no problem. They both hover well with power to spare.
I read a lot of bad press with DP and now that I have some hands on with the product and the company, I honestly feel that most the bad press is unfounded! They are a small company with limited resources for phone support, but the products are excellent and there is a lot of good info/help here on RCU in the event you get stuck.
Drop me a line, I would be glad to talk about it [email protected]

Erick,
you meet my boss(girl friend) and I at a show in Chicago in Sept. You showed us all the new features of RCU. She really has her heart set on that DP540T. We wanted to put the DA50 on it because of the perf. and service. When I called DP they told me, and I quote," we will not warranty a plane with a gas engine on it." What is really funny is that in the specs it says that it will handle up to a 35cc gas. They sounded like the DA would fly this plane to pieces. I have seen 1 fly with the 50 on it and it seemed fine to me. I have not had any experience with the zdz 40.Are they a good engine? I know my honey wants the DA real bad. I have finally got her to quit flying a full throttle so maybe she wouldn't rip the ailerons off this combo. We will probably go ahead and buy it. She usually gets what she wants and I wouldnt mind flying it either. I like the Extreme myself, but she doesn't like te color scheme. Wonder who will win this aurguement?
