I am pretty new to this hobby and started with a Avistar a couple of months ago. I recently purchased a Hangar 9 Aresti and am flying it pretty well but it is'nt the easiest plane to see in the air. Today I picked up a U can do 46 3D plane and I am looking for some opinions on if this is a pretty good 2nd plane or not. By the way, I tried to use the basic 4 channel radio that came with the avistar and it is very diffacult to fly with the aresti. I just picked up a Futaba Super 8, hopefully with the dual rates the U can do will be a little easier.

I haven't flown the 46 but had a 60 and I think the plane would make a nice second plane as long as you keep the throws down until you are comfortable with it. They slow down very well and are easy to see, yet are quite aerobatic.

Yes. It is a good choice for a 2nd plane. It has excellent flying characteristics and is capable of any maneuver you can imagine. It can be flown slowly and close in for better visability.

Nothing is wrong with the Aresti. The Great planes is a little bit bigger plane and more visable. By the way, what is a SPAD?

Well I finally had some decent weather to take the 3D out for its first flight. At first the control throws were way too high. I adjusted them for the low rates as the book said but still too much. I dialed them down to about 30% and what a difference. Not only is it a fun plane to fly, with the throws down it flys a lot like my old Avistar trainer. This is a good thing for me until I get used to it.
