Here's the review from RCU. It's very good to read if you're interested in the plane.

I asked Quantum about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and they indicated zero in stock, and no clue as to when they might arrive.

DP's site indicates that there may be a production issue, as they refer to the future of the Ultimate 40 as "uncertain".

Good luck finding one.

I personally will wait and buy a 60 size bipe or bigger. I believe they are squirrely at smaller scales. It would be nice to get a 40 size one but notice how many people make them? Not many.

Get a Goldberg Ultimate and a YS 110, Saito 120, OS 108FSR, OS 91FX or Webra 120.

I've had two ARFs and would buy another. You need an OS91FX (with a Jett Muffler) or better to fly it well. My last one had the Webra, and was quite the ride!

Cermark will be producing and selling the Ultimate 40 designed by Dave Patrick. I was at Cermark on Monday to pick up some servo extensions and saw a model (in the DP colors). The Ultimate is one of the new planes listed in their 2004 Catalogue. I was told it would be available in 2004. I hope this update satisfies those looking for the model, who thought it may have gone by the wayside.

Maybe that's good news. Will they be able to keep a few in stock to actually ship to customers?

I have a D.P. ultimate 40 I got it at my lhs in December 2002 it's the first and only one recived. It was my first bi-plane and first extrem airobatic plane and I love it. It's not to unstable and lands just a little hot. I have an O.S. SX 50 in it and it will do unlimmited virtical. I have an extra 300s form G.P also but the ultimate is still ma favroite.
