Hi there,
Got a hot news for the big bird lovers !!!
"Drop" all your JR/Futaba/Hitech digital servo's. TOC 2002 flyers will use Volz servos. DA bought 100 of them for their pilots.
Book 4 for my ZN Line Evolis XXL. 202 € a piece (+/- 185 $ !!!). Where you're using 2 8411 Jr, you'll use 1 Alu-Star digital-P (300 oz./in !!!).

I do agree with you Dough. That's what I told to the Mr. Volz. He answered me that those first 100 one's are for the TOC pilots... .
I guess they are trying them on their models. If it meets their requirement, DA will book more... .
In my humble opinion, I do think that those servo's will become #1 world giant scale model servo. Maybe, reaction from Japanese and Tawainese company will stop their technological advance but till they won't build an aluminium case... under eavy loading there is nothing to compare.
Try and judge, that's all I can say, but a servo who resist to a 1/5 racing car during a whole season... I mean without opening it. You will not find many.
I just want to clarify one thing, I am not working for Volz and if my opinion "come to light" to Volz that's because I am fed up of those shaking head servo, digital or not.
Hope my words a understandable considering the fact that I am French speaking.
Cheers,
J.-Y.MEERSMANS.
For info. :
Alu-Star digital-P: Torque 220 Ncm (300 oz.in) at 0,17 sec./
60° at 6 Volts. Metal gears with steel output.

no problm for the servo's, you can come and fetch them home.
That's the only condition I'll concede them. I hope that I am no asking you too much ?

The Multiplex Jumbos were introduced for the 1/5 scale cars and they are also indestructible. As good as the Voltz are, so are the Multiplex.
Any TOC pilot that is sponsored by Futaba, or JR or any others for that matter, will not be allowed to use anything but the sponsors product. I know a few I spoke to would have likded to use the Multiplex line of servos but where not allowed by their sponsors.

Well.....Gee Roger...... Seems to me that MPX could remedy that situation by offering up a sponsorship or two. Or…… maybe a little MPX dealer in Canada could that for them. <BG>

Roger,
Oooops ! I forgot Multiplex in my list but you also forget to speak about the brand new ROYALevo, no ???
I like very much Multiplex, they are doing very good looking sailplane, good quality old-fashion transmitter and other electric stuff.
Happily, the new ROYALevo is there for us (saw it in Nürenberg) and coming (hope soon !) for you on the new continent. But you will certainly give us a better description that I could do.
About the servos, Multiplex make very good servos as good as the other brands do (size, quality and prices).
What do you think about this little comparison ???
Multiplex Voltz
Transit speed 40° 19 sec. Transit speed 60° 17sec.
5 Cells 5 Cells
Torque 255oz/in Torque 300oz/in
5 Cells 5 Cells
Weight 5.57oz Weight 2.5 oz
Notice well the difference of degrees 40° for Mpx and 60° for Volz
And what about the size ?
MPX
2.36" x 2.36" x 1.18"
Volz
L:1.61" x h: 2.0" x l: 0.8"
To the risk to repeat me MPX are good servos but not comparable with a VOLTZ
Cheers,
JYM.
P.S. : All infos come from official web site
http://www.multiplexrc.com/

I do agree the web site looks poor against the MPX one.

Hey Mike,
How are you doing?
You know if I could sponsor I would.
I had a TOC pilot ask me for my Fiber Optic extensions but he wanted not just to give it to him (which is not a problem) but actually pay him to booth, sorry can't afford it.
On the other hand, CPLR is going to use the Fiber Optic extensions in his 2002 TOC aircraft. And he didn't ask for me to pay him, he simply wants to use it. Go figure.

Not what I was looking my first post to be, but it is.
DA is not buying 100 Volz servos for TOC pilots. They are being bought for sale, to anyone. Obviously if someone wanted to use them, that's there choice, but as most of you know, sponsored pilots (I believe all of us) have to use the equipment we are sponsored with. And after flying them at the Nall in the FC Yak 55SP, they are not the end all miracle servo. There are some things that are being worked out on them. But they are powerful, no arguing there.
