I've got a plan for the 80" span version of the Su-Do-Khoi (Profile Sukhoi) and also have a new Moki 1.80 looking for a home.
Will the Su-Do-Khoi live with modern 3D machines like my Funtana or is it a waste of time building it?
If it's a dud any ideas of a really 3D capable ship for the Moki? I'd prefer scale(ish).
Thanks.

It's a great flying. Can do anything except stalled wing manuvers (this wing won't stall). Hovering is a breeze, nice and big and very stable. I have tried it with a Moki 1.8 and a 2.1 both on MAC's pipes. Either one does the job. I split the ailerons to try the "crow". It will land at a near stop.

Thanks for your reply Flyhard.
Pity it won't snap. The instructions say it'll do an inverted flat spin (climbing if you like!) but I know what you mean. I have a few fun fly types that can get into an inverted spin but won't snap or spin upright without everything being just perfect.
What does your's weigh? My instructions say 13.5 pounds and I was thinking good hovering may be a bit marginal at that weight without resorting to a pipe and nitro. Whadyathink? Also any ideas on prop size?
Like your colour scheme - looks real good.
I was thinking maybe I could build the fuz' from thick polystyrene foam skinned with 3/32 balsa. Any thoughts?

Wowbagger,
I think mine weighs about 14 lbs. No problem in hovering. I can keep it in a hover while playing with the throttle having it bounce up and down. The Moki's put out a lot of power. I have not tried it with out a pipe but you don't want to use more then 5% nitro on a Moki. On the 1.8 I was using a 20x6 and getting about 10k rpm. I know the 2.1 will "rip" a 22x8 static. I don't know about using foam on the fuz. It would be difficult as most of the electronics are in the fuz. I did run CF down the sides because I had problems with other profiles breaking behind the wing.

Thanks for the info FlyHard. Glad to hear it can hover at 14 pounds. Funnily enough I have a 80" 14.5 pounds CAP 21 powered by a Super Tigre 3000 (30cc) running an 18x8. I've never tried hovering it. I'm going to get a 20x6 for it and see if it will. Could be fun!
Have taken note of the carbon fibre strip down the sides. Thanks.

Thanks for that. I'll have to find a pipe over here; I think maybe Just Engines will do one as they supply Moki in England.
How long/many gallons did it take to run-in your Moki 1.80?

I don't remember maybe 2-3. After that it just kept getting better. BTW to start it, just get it wet, cover the carb for a few flips NO GLOW, and give the spinner a flip backwards. That's all it takes. BTW I had mine start just by hooking up the glow so be careful
