Winter flying time were I live is hard to come by. I have been flying for 15 years and recently decided to learn
some 3-D stuff. I can do a rough rolling circle but am having trouble learning to hover and torque roll.
It's been suggested to me that I should get some stick time in a Real flight sim. What do you guys think?
If I do buy one do I need the Lite G-2 or the regular G-2 version? later daveo

I have been flying for a very long time and received G2 for Christmas. It is good but has its limitations.

I have not been able to do 3D on G2 (full version). Even some of the normal stuff is not quite right and it is expensive.

I don't have the experience to decide how realistic G2 is. However I can say it is a blast. There is nothing I would rather do on sunday night or a rainy day. For me it was worth every penny.

the winters here in northern newyork are long and cold as well so my real flight is a god send.
yes they are a blast, i go on line with mine and get to meet some nice folks most of the time.
it keeps you sharp in those winter months. i think you will find it was worth the money.

I ended up buying the G-2. So far I'm having fun. The controler sent with it is so-so. Hav'nt had time to
use my radio with it. Accuracy on some things is OK but others stink. For instance it's almost impossible to land without some bounce. But knife edge it will do all day long with no roll or pitch. I also crashed more in the first 20 minutes than in 10 years of flying. It is hard to see the ground coming up and takes time to learn the landmarks.
All in all I think I will get a lot of bad weather use out of it. Thanks for the input.
