I take a small can (like a tuna fish can ) add some vaseline in it. With a heat gun or hair dryer, heat it up until it is in liquid form. Fold the hinge so that it remains open 45 degrees or more. Dip the knuckle of the hinge in the vaseline. The vaseline will flow completely into and around the knuckle. You may need to heat the vaseline every now and then to keep it from becoming to thick. Be careful not to dip the hinge so far in as to cover any part of your glueing surface. Set each hinge aside and let the vaseline cool down. It works great
