I have got a small 3d plane Komacro(wingspan about 40 inches 42- length. I am looking for an engine for it. All up weight less motor and fuel is 850g (30 ounces). I want it to hover and pull out. I was thinking of a magnum .28, mds.38, os 25la or mvvs .28 OS max 25fx would be the best but it costs too much over here. Maybe any other choices?

The lighter the setup the better it will fly. Phillybaby is pretty smart , so I would go with his opinion
See ya and good luck

if i was you i'd do more looking, tho i'm pretty sure they stay away from havier ballraced engines sticking with small plain bearing engines. Ask Cartman, hes the man that knows about that plane

the SX are bearing engines and therefore heavy.
if i'm right even the 25la is too big.
there are threads on the Komacro, use the search feature and you'll find you never needed to ask this question

My model has been stiffen up. From my experience it can even handle this .32sx. At first it had been covered with paper and now I have changed it to supershrink polyester film. The whole model is very stiff and will surely handle a much bigger engine than a .15.
So phillbaby just check the weight- 30 ounces less engine and fuel!!!!!!!!!!

Boogie, try the "Norvel" line manufactured in Russia. Lightweight with lotsa power. These things scream. The .25 is 9.02 oz. (250 kg) and the .15 is 5.7 oz. (161 g) both around $60.00 Sorry I didn't get back to you on that other project, it's on hold for now. Later, Joe

cumn thru:
Oh that's bad. But I hope that you will come back to the project soon. I know how you feel. I also have many projects on paper. RIght now I have to finish a flying wing, a 70inch trainer glider for a friend and a slope 100inch glider. I alos have a .25 UCD on the building board- just started building it. Then I am going to make 2 F3A models to compete with them. And then are two lon projects- a 4m glider and a 100inch b-29.
I have just bought a .28 mvvs engine- paid 55 bucks.
