FMS is a real simple simulator, it's possible to practice 3D (you WILL need to use a tranny, keyboard is out of the question)
don't expect it to be very realistic
you could also buy G2 or Ikarus but those are very expensive
i like FMS, it's fun when the weater is too bad to fly

Look [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Virtual_Pro_Bro/m_1482178/tm.htm]here[/link].
There I've posted a simple Fun-Fly model for FMS (actually I moded it from an existing one). You will need to use your transmitter, because with the keyboard it's just not possible and also not realistic.
But beware, with Windows XP the paralel port interface doesn't work, so you may need to use the serial one, or you can get the paralel interface, and partition your HD to have both the Win 98 and WinXP. But before partitioning, make a backup of all your data, since it's highly probable to lose it in the process, happned to me when I partitioned mine.
Hope it helps,

I think its around £100.
The lead for your transmitter comes with it.
you need to get the extra cd add-on that has 3d aircraft with it.
Don't worry about getting that though, sent you a pm

Yes I was wondering are UK hobby shops doing the same deal as the rest of Europe where you now get the expansion pack thrown in free?

do a search on rcu for( fms 3d)in one of the threads there is a web page that has about 15 3d planes all made by the same persion, one of the planes is called the gb cap.it is a yellow cap I learned how to hover with this plane.now after hovering the cap on fms I can hover my extreem 330 and hold the hover about 4 feet off the ground. If you can hover this cap on fms you can hover a real funfly.

There is a freeware written by one Japanese guy that will allow u to interface with FMS using ur soundcard "LINE IN" or "MIC IN". For JR user u can use any mono jack. I have been using this software interface on XP without problem. Anyone interested?

ive got a load of 3d models for fms. about 40 profile models and they 3d well, it is not too realistic, there are no torque effects but you get the idea of it all.
i like the majestic 3d, fluyd 3d, freestyle 3d and a big edge for 3d.
i have downloaded about 250 models for fms now, just do a search on google for 3d fms models, sift through the rubbish and you will find loads
