OS 61fx makes it very fun. A 91fx would be even better. Be sure and use 4-40 pushrods for the control surfaces or other heavy duty methods. Flutter from my cheesy 2-56 pushrods caused mine to crash @ full speed. Use throttle management. This airplane is a smooth flier that enjoys inverted 2 feet off the runway. As far as not too expensive....maybe try ebay.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if the 61 fx would have the performance that I wanted.

Try www.justengines.co.uk
they have info on the Irvine range of engine, which are just brilliant, and very cheap. They run smooth, eay to set up, and very powerfull. I think that they make a 72 which should do nicely.
Good luck!
Robert.

Robert, thanks for the advice. I have been to the just engines site and looked at the irvines. They look very nice and I have seen nothing but great comments on them. I think I may have a winner!

I have the 53, for about 2 years now. I never had to do any maintenance on it, and it runs soooooo sweet. Excellent engines, you should really try one!

Default Save your $$

For 99 bucks you can get an MDS .68 that would be perfect for this application. Just remember no more than 10% nitro, use an OS 8 plug or a cheap idle plug and put a speed prop on her, she loves to rev!
