I was thinking something in the 30 - 40 range the cheaper the better.
Here are the two I was thinking of:
The HS-5475HB is a digital servo and is about $35
Torque: 61 oz/in, Transit Time: .23 sec/60 Degrees
looks like a step above a standard servo.
Then there's the HS-625MG for about $40
Torque: 76 oz/in, Transit Time: 0.18 sec/60 Degrees
I do not like metal gears but I'll use what ever works.
I'm using some cheap high torque GWS servos right now, they are working out but they have poor centering and poor acceleration which makes for poor holding force.

Haven't tried the new futaba 3010 but do have the 5475 and it's a nice servo for the money, centers very well and holds strong. I run 6V for some extra speed and torque. The 475 is nice too but for the extra $12 I'd go with the 5475.

go to www.google.com and type in the search box this: 1 inch in cm
it will give you the answer and thats what you have to multiply by or divide by.
Google converts pretty much everything except money unless they upgraded it.

Good idea, I think I'll do that. Will 6V NiMH be fine? The tech info says it NEEDS to be NiCD, but I can't see why one rudder servo would cause that much current draw.

I have the Hitec HS-5475 on all surfaces of my H9 Funtana, and on the rudder of my Pheonix Models Funstar 3D. I love this servo, highly recommend it.
