I have two questions related to recently installing a Saito 100 on my ucando.
First, this engine was just installed and tuned in. I had the idle down a little low at one point and the tail of the plane was a blur. After a couple of easy-does-it test flights I noticed a CA hinge in the rudder had snapped. These are Radio South CA hinges, which are supposed to be great? I can't imagine it broke in flight as I wasn't even wringing the plane out. Must have been the vibration?
Also, since I didn't want to redo the blind nuts in the firewall, I am using the motor mount that came in the kit, which is the GP 40-70 size resin mount. Will this survive the 100?
otherwise, so far so good.. 6 lbs 2 oz dry weight, flies nice

I've had the 100 in mine for about 8 months. I have about 120 flights on mine. you may want to up grade the hinges... I dont' like CA hinges, never will! Other than that no mods
super blenders (full power straight down!) are awsome!! rudder flew off once... Damn CA hinges...
running a 15 x 6 APC turnimg about 9000 rpm.
Let me know if you need anything else.

I live at 5000 feet- it's not madness, it's necessity.
To the first person that replied, are you running the stock with the kit motor mount? If so I'm not worried about mine.

So is vibration a problem with the 1.00?

After switching to 30% fuel this weekend I think my quest for ever-larger engines is over! 15x4W @ 10500, put a 16x4w on which brought it down to 9300 rpm.
DM, I don't think the engine has vibration issues, but if you idle it way down to 1300 rpm on a solid mount things might break. That's when mine broke, playing with the idle capabilities. It has regular hinges in the rudder now, working fine.

I've also got too many flight to count on my Ucan. Although I'm not quite as crazy as rcflyguy_26 with his, everything is holding up well. I scrapped the CA hinges from the start and installed a good set of dubro's. Mine has even survived a trip through the outer edges of a tree and a landing with the gear nearly falling off. No MAJOR damage. Just some popped covering but no broken wood. The included engine mount will give you no problems.
