Default 3d cg

how do you know how far to move the cg back. i mean when do you know its far enough. i know too far will most likely be known too soon. im not looking for measurements. im looking for a description or feel of when aft cg is far enough for 3d and aerobatic manuvers. im starting conservative and want to know when im there. will i feel/know im there?

i like my cg far enough back where, when you go to idle and are landing, the tail starts to sink/drop...with cg, i think everyone has a different preference, just go back as far back as you are comfortable with. the more "inherently unstable" the plane is, the better it will 3D.

Like Rob said, except, need to land with a little speed and down elevator, would be the next step in tail heavyness. Also, when at 1/3-2/3 throttle the plane will fly inverted level hands off.
