Default Charleston IL Fly In?

Is anyone on here going to the Coles county fly in at the Coles County airport the weekend of 6-29-02. I think I will go and take some birds. Maybe some of us RCU guys can get together their. I will be looking for shade in my uncles hanger while I am their. Any takers let me know if you are going to go for Sat. and Sun. maybe we can get together and have BBQ.

I'm planning on going to the Coles County Classic on Saturday. I will have to leave about 3:00 to go home, as I'm hosting a cook out. Wayne it's MTO for the pilot types, and only about 45 minutes south of Champaign right off of route 57.

Default Where is Charleston IL?

We're located about an hour south of Champaign, about 45 minutes north of 70 off Rt 57. The exit is for Mattoon and Charleston on Rt 16. The airport is just over a mile east of Rt 57 on 16. Last year's event was great, this year should be even better. I would encourage anyone to attend, it's a lot of fun for the spectators too. Our flying club, the Charleston Stoneflyers, and the Mattoon club will be hosting the event. There will also be some full-size aircraft doing exhibition at this year's event.

Wayne, unless thing have changed from last year Hovering and 3D will be OK, and I hope things have NOT changed. They had a freestyle shoot out last year with some really good flying. I don't remember all the names, but Mike McConville was part of the group. Tom

Hi Chris,
Long time, no see! How are things going? Tell your Dad hi for me.
What are you working on? How is the Springfield bunch? You still see Bottoms, Gasparini, and all those guys? If so, tell them all hi too.
Later, TC

Ted is that you? Where have you been hiding yourself? You know us we have 1 million things in the fire at once. I have decided not to compete at all this year and just fly as much as possible. Now later in the year I will start getting ready for next year. Are you still in town or are you in Champaign? Come see us in Charleston this weekend sounds like it is going to be a great time.
