Default Charging battery for ignition

I just read the manual for my DA 50 says that you should not charge the bateries for the ignition while it is connected to "said ignition." Does the mean that you have to disconnect the battery from the ignition module to charge it, or am I reading this wrong. New to Gas engines so any help would be appreciated

Just make sure the on/off switch is turned off, and plug the charger wire into the proper connector.
