Man I wish I was there to see this! At least I have pics! :-) I can't believe you had the presence of mind to stop and take pics!!
I'm sure this post will open the whole "I told you so" can of worms! That's not really the point the lesson is in the picture..
Reason: Throttle left open while starting..
Not naming any names. :-)

Yea, it hurt. The plane almost got away too. It smacked my hand, I jumped out of the way, the plane darted away and I did the 3rd baseman dive to keep it on the ground. I caught the right elevator halve and it pulled into my truck breaking the prop and stoping the motor. I ripped my shirt up and tied pieces into a tournicate, dissassembled the plane and packed it up, took some photos and drove to the emergency room.
I studied the Intermediate IMAC routine for an hour and was so looking forward to flying a few sequences. Damn!
I checked out the firewall and everything seems OK Stephan.

I almost had a simular accident. I've learnt that keep neck straps away until the flightline cause they sometimes hit the throttle stick open. And once I went full power across pits, 'cause the tranny hit my chest.
Hope you best of luck with your finger and plane man.

I lopped my right index finger off. Nylon 2 blade prop at around 16k rpm. It was dangling by the bottom tendon. heh I laughed about it after swearing a few choice words. Funny thing is I remained calm while everyone else at the field was screaming "get the medical kit, where is a clean rag". I actually had to calm them down.
I had to wait 2 days for surgery. They were able to reattach it. Now I just have some lovely scars. lol
I am sooooo very careful around the props now. Lesson learned.

Man, I got a Moki 180 beat sitting in my H9 Edge. I have had it bite be more then once and actually knock the chicken stick right out of my hand. I don't want to know what happens when that sucker gets up to full power and lunges at you. One thing I always have, is a person standing holding the tail down.
