if you like kits the capiche 50 is very good and its all cnc cut so it take very little time to build. There is also an option of a fun fly wing which makes learning to hover easier. If you are interested go to www.flycapiche.co.uk and check out the Capiche 50 forum.

Get a profile!
Morris hobbies, OhioModelPlanes, Extreme flight edge. Ikarus Shockflyer! Or well of course you can just get a big 40% bird, it's gonna kill the wallet but no biggy!

edit: Sorry I forgot about Paul Swany's Burrito

Capiche 50 is a great plane- best model of its size i have flown.........................ive learnt a lot including harriers and general freestyle aeros with this one. Also good at pattern, and very light Havent tried the funfly wing yet.

Shockflyer (light electric parkflyer) is also a very very good choice that i have flown too and perhaps better for learning- crash and you only need £25 for another kit.

Both are also readily available in the Uk- another factor which you should look at.

Both engines should be good. The saito 72 is also a very good choice(thats what ive got), the new 82(same weight more power) would be phenomenal. YS 63 also proven to be a good choice.

Have heard that the 591 is far too slow.
The futaba 3010 is a good choice- excellent value(20 quid or less) and a good gear train with little slop- they are very good on my capiche ailerons. I have gone for coreless 11kg jobbies on my tail surfaces with very good results, but this is just for peace of mind, and way overkill

Ive got exams too, know your pain. I ran in the 72 as per instructions. Used irvine contest 10 fuel. ran the engine with the very rich settings for 1hr, then started leaning out everything. You will notice much improved fuel consumption and better running once you do this. I also re adjusted the valves. If you are unstisfied with the vertical authority once run in, try tweaking the low end needle, because it has an effect on max revs.

I can't comment on the Capiche 50s flying ability but you can build it without pins and very accurately if you have a FLAT table.

Trust me, read the instructions AND plans and dont do what I did,

I 90 degree angle is good for ensuring straight formers but Its not 100% anecaserry.

Read the engine's instruction manual!!!!

its got it all in there. however i would say do NOT run it at full power. Can't remeber the exact figure but think its around 4000 rpm with the glow igniter still attached.

look here for all saito info you need....
