Default Blade with Nippy Black problem

I am new to 3d. I have a Blade (EPP - similar to a shock flyer) with a nippy black 0808 - JETI 8amp esc - 2 cell poly 720mah - 10,4.7 prop. My first 10 or so flights ended up in nose dives and I may have damaged the motor. The bottom line is that it barely hovers. Does anyone know if this setup is adequate for 1/2 throttle hovering? If so, could a damaged motor still produce enough power to hover? Maybe it is just under powered or something else.

PS At slow speeds the motor sometimes squeeks but the shaft does not look bent.

Thanks,
Idiot Newby

It would help if you went to a 3 cell pack.

and when going 3cells, maybe use a slightly smaller prop, a 9x4.7. I had something similar with a blade on 2 cells with an AXI 2208/34 , 10x4.7 prop, plane flew barely,
then I decreased the prop size to 9 x 4.7 and the enigine seemed to be much happier. Even on 2 cells the power was much better. On 3 cells it's of the scale.....
