Funtana 40 Throttle Servo
I have a JR ES306 Micro Servo that I would like to use as a throttle servo on my Funtana 40. The carb on the YS-63s is very smooth so I cannot see that the low Torque of the servo could be a problem.
Is there perhaps any other reason why should or should not use this servo. Here are the specifications on the servo:
ES-306
Type Standard
Size Super-Micro Servo
Torque 0.5 kg/cm
Speed 0.10 S/60ΒΊ
Length 21.0 mm
Width 11.5 mm
Height 19.5 mm
Weight 0.6 g
Bearings
Gears Nylon
Thanks

If so that is a small amount of torque. I'd personally want more like 1 kg-cm (18.47 oz-in). You need some safety factor for binding and vibration (and being pushed on while you are working on it).

RE: Funtana 40 Throttle Servo
I have used an Hitec HS-55 (18oz @ 6.0V) for the throttle on a Saito 40, the vibration killed the pot. Hitec replaced it, then I replaced it with a HS-85BB (no problem). A HS-81 (42oz @ 6.0V) would work also. I have a HS-85 (49oz @ 6.0V) laying around that I am going to use on my Funtana S 90 and it only weighs .67ounces. I don't recommend anything less than 18oz torque for throttle and 18oz is too low to me as shown. Any servo comparable to these listed would work fine.

RE: Funtana 40 Throttle Servo
Been using small servo's (HS55's, HS81's, Bluebirds) on most of my stuff lately. The only problem I've had is with a ST51. The carbs got a rubber boot on the throttle barrel. The Bluebirds and the HS55's don't have enough torque to position consistently.
