I have been flying a OMP 540P. The plane is starting to shows its age and I would like to drop my gear into something new that will fly 3D with the OS 46 FX that I have on it.
I was just wondering what planes are at the top of everyone's lists right now.

if you like profile planes the extreme flight edge 540 is the best out there in terms of quality and performance! just a little pricey but its well worth it! my os .46 pull very well from a hover, and KE torwards the canopy but just a very little mixing you can take it out!
flown 2 morris knifes to death
1 profile hots
and currently the edge 540

Yes, keep it light for good 3D performance. A lot of the widebody planes like the UCD .46 ect, are called .46 planes, but are underpowered with a .46 due to the weight. Yes, you can have fun with them with a .46, but I'm talking about really good 3D performance. I've found that 4 1/2 pounds and under is best for .46's. A good .46 (like your FX) will 3D a 5lb plane, but it will be marginal. You know some of this already as you've had a profile. The ones recommended already are great.
