I'm fairly new to 3D and have been looking at the OMP 540.... I have a .61 FS that I'm planning to throw on it. Has anyone built one with the new foam core fuse setup.... I'm not sure I like that from a strength stand point... I would imagine my first few tail touches might not be real soft
I had a Heckler 3D but I sold it because it wasn't that good of a 3D plane for someone starting out. I had the .61 FS on that and it would hover about 1/2 throttle with a 13x4 prop so I would assume it should hover this profile without a problem.
Thanks in advance.

I'm building the 65" Yak with the foam fuselage. It looks plenty strong, light, and easy to build. I think it is stronger than the built up katana ARF fuselage. You should build the Katana. I have it and love it, my favorite plane by far.

I'm busy covering the 47" Yak. Fuz is definitely not a concern. It's much more rigid in my opinion. Especially for those catch out of a hover party tricks. No more pressing holes in your fuz if you catch it in a funny spot. Get the edge! You won't be sorry!
I don't know much about your engine though. The edge is a good plane for a .46 2-stroke maybe .50 And well somewhere around .63 Ys 4-stroke and .72 saito. You know this probably and you'll have to decide for yourself on that one. Might try posting this in the fun fly forum although most of the Bros pass through here as well.

Thanks for the info.... The Magnum .61fs is not a powerhouse by any stretch, but it doesn't miss a beat.... I'll try it and it it's lacking at all I'll put on a 50 2 stroke. I'm planning on a all up weight of under 4 lbs if I can. I'm glad everyone likes the foam core, that's one less thing to worry about. Oh, by the way, the edge will be here tomorrow
How long of a build time am I looking at?
