In the 40% class Why has there been a change over the years? seem like the all started with Cap.
Now The Extra is the big deal. For those of you that have flew all 3 40% aircraft, is there that much flight difference
in the 3?

I havent flown all in 40%, but I have flown all in 28% and 35%...
Edge is a smoother ship, longer fuse acts similar to a pattern ship doing awesome smooth flight and 3D characteristics. Downside? Bit harder to get it to tumble.
Cap232 is shorter coupled and while some still do great smooth aerobatics, they are better suited for tumbling than edges or extras.
Extra is the middlegrounds ship, hence its popularity. Does good 3D, flys smooth but can tumble on demand. Very popular because of this with the TOC and IMAC crowd.
I believe the perfect ship may end up being the Yak, but I'll make that judgement after I fly one.

They all have there good points and bad. The Cap harriers great but is not a good straight line plane. The Edge torque rolls are impressive but harriers are hard to master without wing rock. I go along with the Extra is the best overall plane, does most anything but none exceptional(other then the most forgiving). One thing to keep in mind is what airplane the top TOC guys are flying is the plane of the month. Extra today, Cap could be back, Edge is slipping until next year. I do agree with ibange on the Yak but until I fly one who knows. I do know that the plane you are most comfortable with is the best. For me its an Edge.
