Default Hot Hots Question

I was looking at a Hot Hots cut out by morris hobbies and they said it was capable of "hoverbatics." Does this mean it can do 3D? There's a guy at my flying field that says it's different than the one midwest produced and I was also wondering if anyone knew what the differences were?

The Hot Hots is definately different that the Midwest version of yesteryear. It is more of a Fun Fly type of plane....fat, short span, wide wing cord. However, it is not designed to the current trend of Fun Fly planes (huge elevator and rudder, minimal stab and fin) even though the ailerons are huge. I have one that I built from the RC Modeler plans. It is a good airplane, but if all out 3D is what you are after, you might be disappointed. Mine will hover okay and do a half way decent harrier, but the elevator is inadequate for alot of the flipping and spinning manuevers (waterfalls, blenders). The plane had such a slow stall speed that it is difficult to get it stalled and keep it stalled. Don't get me wrong, it is a fun airplane and is quite nimble despite it's so-so 3D capabilities

Will this airplane knife edge?

Very well! And, there is very little roll or pitch coupling with the rudder. I have the CG back as far as I dare go (well past recommended). It will do a knife edge loop with good power and full rudder (45 deg.), though "I" don't do them very well.

Hoverbatics is what we called 3D, before we called it 3D. 3D was a term used by the heli floks.
