I just ordered my Katana from Creek Hobbies,I want to know your opinions on engines, preferablly from people who have actually owned these engines,I want good 3D and good pull out power.I really would like gas,but could deal with glow if it is the better choice.I spoke with Creek and they said with the OS 1.60,I would need about 5oz lead up front,I really don't like to add dead weight to a plane. Here's what I have narrowed it down to,although it is not too narrow:
OS 1.60 w/Jett turboJett Muffler
MVVS 1.60 Gasser
RCS 1.40 Gasser
RCS 1.80 Gasser
Thanks,
Mike

I thought about getting this plane and put a ZDZ 40 to get a 2 to 1 thrust to weight ratio. If I go glow, I would use a Moki 1.8 to make up for that 5oz. that the OS 1.6 would need.

What you guys are missing is that this airplane has less than a 1000 sq inches of wing area. Light wing loading is as essential to good 3D performance as a high power to weight ratio. I f this airplane comes out at 12+ pounds with a gas motor it may fly regular aerobatics well but it will 3D like a brick.

Knife Brother,I agree totally,I had an H-9 Edge with a Brison 2.4 and other than Hover, the 3D was awful,We awitched to an S 1.60 and it was much better.I agree that the 40cc gas is too heavyand it is not consideration, but if I need to add 5oz anyway,I want to add it in something I can use, like engine.
