Default my gray area...........

my fellow pilots and i had a differance of opinion the other day
1) same brand same model which one of them, say 15x4 vs 15x6, spinning at same rpm
gives out better thrust
2) does your opinion hold true for the entire rpm range

thanks for ur input

Assuming no part of the prop is stalled, then the 15x6 will give higher thrust, as it is accelerating the same mass of air to a higher speed.

For the sort of rpms we run at then yes it will hold true accross the rpm range.

Static thrust is the same. Meaning more or less how much weight a prop spinning at a given RPM can pull. The 15x6 will give better dynamic thrust. Meaning it will move more air propelling the plane faster. If they are turning the same RPM.
