Default Funtana Harrier, spoilerons or flaps?

In order to help the plane harrier better, i,ve heard a couple of different options. When reading a review for the new Extreme Flight Yak 54 the author states he has a mix of elevator to spoilerons to help keep the nose up while doing a harrier maneuver. I,ve also heard from another source that you want to do an elevator to flap mix to help with low speed stability. Both theories make sense, but what works best with the 40 size Funtana?

When performing harriers and elevators, you want to take the lift away from the wing and not just stall the tips, that is done with spoilerons or spoiler, ailerons moving up. You keep the nose up with CG position (tail heavy) and a bit of throttle over fully up deflected elevators.

The Funtana S 90 will harrier without spoilerons or flaperons. Having a small amount will help with harrier landings, but general harrier flying, the plane will handle it on it's own, but this doesn't mean a new pilot off a trainer would be able to fly the plane in a harrier. A certain amount of flying skill must have been achieved already.

The Funtana 40 (at least mine) needs 100% spoileron mix. It wing rocks terribly with out them.

Probably because the 40 doesn't have the wing filets that the 90 has. That is really the main difference in the plane's shape.

I don't doubt it DTB. As I have mentioned on RCU before it dosn't rock at all inverted. Upright it's a handfull.

Hmmm, that's interesting but not unheard of. I've got planes that perfoem better inverted also.

Spoilerons also speed up the harrier and help you penetrate the wind on breezy days.

It's because the weight in the fuse acts as a keel as most planes are low wingers with all the servo's/engine/rx above it. So it's makes them more stable.

I find my flip very difficult to harrier up right, do you have the spoilers so they are permantly fixed when up or mixed in with the ailerons, or can this be up to the pilot.

foofydoo, I am using a 9C. I have spoilerons mixed 100% with the ELEV. I use the trainer switch to activate them. At the bottem of an elevator I just let go of the switch go neutral and fly out with throttle. Being a thumb flyer this is the best way I have found.

I put my mix on a 3 posistion switch.

Nuetral is no switch, down is flap mix, up is spoileron mix.

Seems to work pretty good for me and is intuitive, you push the switch up to raise the spoilerons etc..
