Default To much research

I am trying to buy a new plane, and are currently doing all kinds of research and reading everything I can.
I am now overloaded with info both good and bad on all planes in question.

Has anyone flown all of the following planes and can give there honest opinion on them. I am looking for the best combination of regular flight (low rates) and 3D flying (high rates). This will be my second plane after the trainer which I am flying now. I am hoping to continue to learn with it on low rates then once my skills improve move to 3D.

My criteria in order is as follows:

1) Good regular flight (low rates), easy to fly, land and takeoff.
2) Good 3D capability, especially harriers and hovers.

What would you suggest as 1-4 place based on my criteria for the following planes.

Hanger Funtana 40
Hanger Funtana 90
U-Can-Do 3D 46
U-Can-Do 3D 60

I would also appreaciate any comments you might have.

Thanks

Either UCD. What every one you own a motor for now.

And yes, I have flown them all.

My bet would be the UCDs. I like the 40 best with the Saito 82 but mostly just because it's easier to haul. It flys nicely but isn't quite as good in the wind. But if you have a larger motor go for the 60 size. There both great plane (pardon my pun) and much easier to fly than the Funtanas. I have all four and have flown them all extenisively.

of those 4 the UCD 60 is probably the best. I know a guy that had both and hated the 46. And the Funtana 40s fly like poo.

Definitely the UCD 60. I've never flown a model airplane with a wider flight envelope. You can get really ignorant with it, yet it would make a good trainer; except for one thing.

All the planes you listed are very fragile. The reason they fly so well is because they are VERY light, due toi the way they are built. IOW, they won't stand much "newbie abuse". I would NOT buy one of these until you can land well, EVERY time. The UCDs, in particular, do not take well to be slammed down onto the runway.

Be sure to take the time to plough through the mega threads on the UCD. There are many nuggets of information in there. The UCD 60 is probably one of the most popular ARFs in history. Seems like everybody had one, at one time or another. There were six at my field alone. What this means is an incredible base of experience, since we all look at things in our own way.

If you're interested in something a little less 3D capable but a whole lot more abuseable get a Twist or a Somethin' Extra. They'll probably stay in one piece long enough for you to pass them on to your kids.
