Default which 50cc kit to build?

I want to build a 50cc size imac/3d plane. I'm looking at the Carden Cuda and the CA extra 27%. Any suggestions? Also, DA 50 VS ZDZ 50. ZDZ claims better power/weight.

No way the ZDZ outperforms the DA50 guy. Good 3D planes for it,,, Chip Hydes Double Vision, the 87" Extreme flight YAK, Wildhare Edge or Extra would be my choices. The DV is my favorite though.

Well i'am sure you have both engines on 2 identical planes with a ZDZ and a DA to prove that. As the matter of the fact i do , and yes the ZDZ does out perform the DA [X(]. Not by much on power but on throttle respoinse the ZDZ is like a top fuel dragster. If any one has a ZDZ 50ng that is perfect as my DA i will swap you any day!! It doesnt have to have a top name brand on it to perform!

Secound none those planes you mentioned are kits they are ARF's.

The CA 27% extra is a very nice kit. Comes out very light less than 15lbs with a light 50cc engine. I have built one carden kit , they are great kits designed to stand the test of time , but a little on the heavy side. The newer kits may be lighter.

Not a whole lot of 50cc kits out there right now , most folks have just went too ARF's you get nice planes and a lot less time to get them in the air.

But i understand the wanting to build , just gives you a feeling of acomplishment. I hope you find a good kit. The CA gets my vote.

If your looking for a kit not an arf go with the CA. good flying plane and everything is already sheeted. 3d and IMAC well. But in an arf that Extreme Flight does look great. Now DA and ZDZ. Had a DA 50 and IS HANDS DOWN the best motor I have ever owned. It may not Have as good as power as the ZDZ, I don't know but with it on the Ca 27% was incredible power. 5/8 throttle hovers and if you happen to need it NO ONE has as good of service as DA!!! Thats just my opinion.

I cant comment on the ZDZ or DA question, but I do have a 27% CA Extra. You wont be disappointed with this model. The kit is very simple to build. The instructions arent the greatest, but this model is laid out well enough to not even need instructions. I fly mostly IMAC with my model and so far i've been very pleased with the results. I've read that they 3d pretty well also. It will fly very slowly and the large ailerons really make it controllable all the way up to and past the stall. I'm not related to or involved with the CA company, just a happy customer. If you have any specific questions regarding setup or construction feel free to ask.

Thanks to you and everyone else. That's the great thing about this hobby. (is it a hobby or a way of life?) Plenty of great help from great people! I guess you have confirmed what I was thinking. The CA. I plan to build over this winter and I'm sure if I have any questions, help is right around the corner.
