Hi
Im headed out to Boston very soon for a short business trip...
Never been before and wondered what are the best Model Shops / Hobby Stores to visit...
I did a search on Google but have not come up with much...
I am posting this here since hopefully the kind of people that are on this particularly forum will appreciate the kind of model shop Im looking for !
Any help appreciated thanks...

Take the trip and visit Brands' "The Hobby Place" in North Providence, R.I. at 2193 Mineral Spring Ave. Phone #(401) 231-5380. Approximately 40 some-odd miles from Beantown and well worth the trip!!!!!

The only decent hobby store near Boston is Alex's in Belmont, but it is small. Use your time to check out the trees instead. It is really beautiful right now.

The city of Boston is good for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, jazz joints, fashion boutiques, but hopeless for hobby shops. I've never been to The Hobby Place in North Providence, but before I'd drive 40 miles south I'd drive 50 miles north to RC Buyers Warehouse in Nashua, just a couple minutes off the Route 3 highway, New England's largest hobby shop. This place is loaded with gas, glow, electric, gliders, helicopters, mostly planes but also cars & boats. The staff are all great modelers, know their stuff. If you don't want to leave Boston, just have lunch in Chinatown, dinner at Anthony's for seafood, the North End for Italian or the Boston Harbor Hotel if you're on the expense account.

Archie - go to www.charlesriverrc.org and open up the LHS directory. "Tis true,
Boston doesn't have that many good hobby shops; R/C Buyers in Nashua,
previously pointed out in an earlier message, has the best stock and supplies in
the local area.

i don't know of any stores nearby that have websites and if they do they don't offer alot as far as stock goes....RCbuyers is the biggest in New England and any other store will most likely have much less to choose from. You might be better off just ordering from Towerhobbies or one of the other sites unless you want a store that you can have a friend walk into.
