Hello.I got sudden urge for learning 3 d.I wanted to ask you experts where should i start.Something well priced and easy enough for beginner.I am not a beginner pilot just new to 3d.Please advice!

Yea... I would like to know this too.

My intension is to get the pacific aero model's Edge 540T 60/100 and put an OS Surpass 1.20 with pump on it.

But long before that, I have much flying to do with my Four Star 60.

Dont start with an imac plane. From personal experience get a 3d capable sim such as afp, get a profile funfly or a foamy and practice practice practice.... The big trick to 3d is having a capable airframe and reliable powerful motor so make sure you have these before attempting anything.
The profiles are easier but if you crash no great money loss. There are some really good howto's and videos out there that you should read also, others can point you in right direction as I cant remember where they are. Have a look at http://www.flyingcirkus.com/ at the 3d university videos.

After you can torque roll and the rest easily then try 3d on an imac plane.

This is how I did it. I surfed all the forums and found videos and any other written descriptions of 3D moves. I studied all of them and got to know them by name. I got a sim over the winter and practiced all of them. Aerofly Pro is by far the best 3D sim out there (for me). Keep practicing everything and make sure you can do it on the sim first. I highly recommend learning torque rolls even though they seem impossible to learn. Once you learn how to save your 3D arf at any attutude, which torque rolls teach you, crashes are much more unlikely (but still possible). That's one thing about 3D, you can save yourself from almost any situation with a blast of engine and the right stick movements. It's less stressfull and panicky since you always fly on the edge when you're 3D'ing. It's a good thing to get into IMO.

Oh I almost forgot, I totally agree with the profile plane recommendation. They are the most stable ARF's out there of their size. They are also not expensive. Foamies are good too but not sure if they are the best first 3D plane. I'm building one now, so I have to see how easy they are to fly.

One of the tips that I like that was previously posted is to start out with a profile..... They are light for their size so it is easier to get a good power to weight ratio with them. Another good tip is the use of the simulator... REAL FLIGHT G3 is due out very soon and will undoubtedly be the best on the market at the time. Currently Aerofly Pro is the one to have.

UHmmm...Yup! Ditto on all the advice. Get yourself hooked up with Aerofly Pro and while you are breaking planes on there get yourself a profile to build and get rigged out. Another option which has helped me out alot is a foamy. I fly my shockflyer nearly every day.

I'm a newbie too. The problem I'm having learning torque rolls is the plane never seems to start one. When it finally does I'm so shocked that its usually over before I feel like I'm a part of it. I've tried giving full left aileron while hovering wilth no effect. Sometimes it starts a torque roll, then quickly rolls back the wrong direction. My trainer is the flat Goldberg Extra arf.

You have to tilt the plane slightly on it's back for it to roll. Just keep at it, you'll get the hang of it. I don't even have to touch my ailerons to get it to start rolling. Try not to over control, just a touch of correction is needed once you are rolling.

I've been trying so hard to keep the thing pointed straight up it probably never gets a chance to get started.

Dont worry, tourqe rolling takes A LOT of practice. I mastered it on the sim(which took awhile) and tried it in real life, and got even better, even though a wrecked a ucando in the process.

Me too, I was practicing decending torque rolls at about 10 feet and kind of got too low. I just smashed a wing tip. It's all repaired but needs to be re-covered.

Maybe if the weather ever gets better here in West Michigan I'll get to try it again. For now, I just ordered Aero Fly Pro.

THAT was a very good idea. I did that last winter and it really helped (I live in Milwaukee). Get it down on the sim first, it saves a lot of grief (from busted up REAL planes).
