Guys,
I have a MOKI 1.5 that needs a home. I am looking into the GSP Katana but the H9 Funtana is also a consideration. Any other ideas would be great. I would like to keep the plane costs under 300.00

That is what it says on the box. I got it from Jack R. at Nampa. It looks like the MOKI 1.8. I will bring it out to the field sometime for you to look at. By the way Steve how is the Funtana?

the funtana has by far tought me more 3d than any other plane i have flown. i have over 100 flights on it without one complaint. and my os 91fx flies this thing great. i did fly robs 10lb. funtana, and it does fly heavier. but has more power with the ys 120. you should buy one of these planes, but keep it light.

I remember the Moki 1.50. they don't make them anymore. It's actually not much less powerful than the 1.80. I'd keep the weight 13 lbs or under with that engine. I'm sure it could turn an 18-8 prop easily, but with a few hundred less RPM than the 1.80. The weight is not much less than the 1.80 either.
The Moki 1.35 is a LOT of engine for the Funtana 90 but it balances perfectly. The 1.50 is WAYYY too much engine for the Funtana 90 and does not balance well at all. It's too heavy. If you're going to go with a huge engine on the Funtana 90, choose light one like the OS 1.60FX or the Saito 1.80. They both weigh about 34 ounces with muffler and balance perfectly. They are both way lighter than the Moki 1.50 (42 ounces with muffler? Just a guess).
How much are you willing to spend? You mentioned two ARF's that are in the $200+ area. Giatntscaleplanes.com has the Yak and Extra, both are both good planes for that engine (the 72" Extra).

That's where he saw the GSP Katana

I have heard of people getting these planes down to the high 10lb range with an OS 1.60. For the $$$$$ I don't see how you could beat the GSP Katana.
