Hi,
a friend of mine has a YS91 and is looking for a pattern plane for it. There was a thread a few weeks ago about this so I don't want to repeat all of it, but one of the planes mentioned was the Hirobo Stream 90.
I've looked on the Hirobo website where there are details of the Stream 50 and it is a very pretty model (lines very similar to the Alliance) but neither the 50 or 90 appears on the Tower website.
I was wondering if anyone had more information on this plane - how much it costs, where is can be bought from, how long it takes to assemble, how it flies etc? Any info would be gratefully received.
thanks
James

I've just checked with Irvine who are the UK importers of Hirobo and they have confirmed that there is a 90 size but they are still waiting for prices and delivery dates from Hirobo.
You North American lot have probably already got it as we always seem to lag behind a bit here...

Yes, there is a 90, I have one on order from Japan. I also have the Stream 50. There are two version to each size, a 50 FAI and a 50 Hi Perf. I have the 50 Hi Perf and have ordered the 90 Hi Perf. The planes are quite superb, beautiful build and they fly great. The 50 Hi Perf is YS 63 Powered and does the 3D book. Well the book that I can do anyway! I will post here when the 90 Hi Perf arrives, is opened.. and flown! I expect to have a YS110 or an OS 90 FX ready for it.

artistic-aero,
Where can I buy the Stream 50 Hi-performance in the US, and about how much it would be? I saw it on your site and it really looks good. Can you give me some details on how it's built and how it flys, especially patterns? Do you have any pictures of it? Thanks alot.

The plane is traditional construction and is built light. It is covered in what appears to be Oracover/ Profilm. The trim is outstanding and looks great in the air. All hardware is included. however the elevator uses a 'Y' type linakage which was thrown away and replaced by a carbon elevator joiner that works perfectly. Recomended engine is really the YS 63 or maybe an OS 50 SX would go great. I have a YS and a flexi linkage to a pipe beneath. Cowl and wheel pants are glass fibre and beautifuly painted, the cowl is exceptional and extends beneath. A tunnel has been fashioned beneath too in the wing belly pan, all nicely covered and well made.
There are two versions, I have the Hi Perf which seems to have the enlarged control surfaces and I'm guessing the fixed gear up front (again painted in metallic paint... though I ended up changing to carbon...)
How does it fly? Superb. Its light and agile and the power balance is perfect on the YS. All 3D is possible with plenty to spare for climb out... and the odd unexpected recovery. Mine is set up as a practice model so to keep costs down Futaba 9001 were used on the primarys and a mini on the throttle. If you want some pictures I think I posted some when it first arrived back in May... if you do a search on "Stream" I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.
As for US stockists, I have no idea, if you find a good Hirobo dealer, say a Heli Shop I'm sure they can get you one fast.
Hope this helps.
