first off happy new year to all.

right here goes i have just bought a weston uk groove freestyle and i want to use a 6V 2200mah NIMH Receiver Pack..will it work ok or should i settle for the 6V 1400mah NICAD Receiver Pack.

servo's will be futaba 3010's all round
engine OS50SX with throttle pipe
APC 12x6 prop

The NiMH pack should be fine. Why do you think the NiCd would be better?

i thought that nicad's had a higher discharge rating compared to the nimh batt's.

thought i would just check before i put the pack in,i didn't want to loose the plane because the battery wasn't suitable..

That Nimh will be fine. I run my capiche 50 on an 1800 5 cell Nimh with 3010s on the ails and Hs-945 corelesses on the tail. I will be pulling more current than you with those corelesses so you should be fine.

that's made me feel a lot happier,i may end up with futaba 9001's on the tail they are coreless.

Why do you use such large capacity batteries? When I charge my planes before going flying my charger tells me how many amp-hours it adds - it is between 200 and 300 mah after a tytpical day of flying. I fly with 650 mah packs. You don't need high amp capable packs for powering receiver/servos for small planes. My planes draw less than 1/2 amp from what I see.

Ditto. AAA's on everything. A's and AA's are just a lot of extra weight.
