Well today I had my new 9C Futaba that I got for Christmas and program my 1/3 scale Sukhoi into it and flew it today. I decided it is time to see how low I can get with my hovering and I got about 3 feet off the ground hovering it with a GT-80 motor in it and it has plenty of power to pull out. I am VERY happy about it. If I fly tomorrow I will try to get some pictures or a video of it. This new radio has help me a lot. The new sticks feel ground. My other radio was worn out.

Carbon fiber is better performance , quieter, and lighter i think, but is more expensive. If you're doing carbon go for Mejzliks. At what throttle position does that zenoah hover the sukhoi?

I have some weight in the nose I need to take out. I know it doesnt do flatspins that well. I might end up taking that weight off up front. That ought to help a little to on hovering. I know it has a great pull out.

Carbon fiber props are definitely not lighter than wood. A mejzlik might be able to achieve better performance but you're going to get much better throttle response on a wood prop, which is how I like it when flying 3D.

If your after 3d flight then a good wood prop is the way to go. Mejzlik is a great prop but in your application it will be slower to spool up.

wood props also offer another advantage and that is if you do meet the ground in a rush your engine is more likley to survive due to the easily breaking prop, therefor taking some of the shock off the crank.just keep an eye out for cracks.

cracks lol. I forgot to say this but my grandad was was walking and like chip off a small piece of prop at the very tip. He just chip one of the corners off and I am still flying with it. I need to change it dont I.

Sounds like a Menz or similar prop. Sand it smooth and sand opposite side similar. Rebalance and fly it some more. The key here is making sure it is balanced following this. A chip in the tip should not affect integrity of the prop.

Okay, I might change it today if I fly it today. Hope I dont take up the flight line today at the field hovering. When someone using yells landing or taking off I get out of the way and let them do it. We have sort of a small field. Not as much landing and taking off space. I hope everything works out today when I fly it again today. I am going to try to get another video of it today.
