can you recommend a 3D capable small 40-50 size bipe? ARF would be preferable but a kit will do it also. I was looking at the GP ultimate 40 kit, but I think it's too heavy.

OMP Bipe. This one is fantastic for 3D.

Man besides a profile you will be hard pressed to find a 40-50 size bipe for 3D.. I do with you luck though.. Funy things with bipes is that a 50cc bipe will have like a 65" wingspan.. So much wieght and drag..

Yeah but nothing 3Ds as well as a good light designed for 3D biplane. They are just more stable and predictable. I have flown a couple, I want one of my own eventually. Im hoping a 100CC size bipe is in the cards for me in the next year or two.

Mike is right. But OMP's Ultimate is going to be a little big for even a .50 sized 2C glow motor. You would be better off just waiting a while for the Boxxer also from OMP. Both the Ultimate and the Boxxer are 3D capable planes with the Boxxer designed around .40 to .50 sized motors and the Ultimate .60-.90.

diddo with spacey. there is also sig's profile bipe kit- mostly laser cut. mine flies well with a supertigre .51. for 3d, when building it add some area to the elevators and ruuder. just lengthen them by an inch or two. you could also do the ailerons.

I flew my friend's Great Planes Ultimate .40 eqipped w/ OS 50 SX. From what I can tell, it won't 3D too well. It's simply too small.

Dave Patrick Ultimate 40 Bipe should fly better, but I wouldn't go so far as to saying it's good for 3D. I have the larger Dave Patrick Ultimate 120, and its 3D capability is just marginal. Below is a review of DP Ultimate 40

I saw the Sig Ultimate profile fly. I don't think it 3D nearly as well as the well designed profiles like Katana-P, OMP Edge/Sledge/EF Edge,...

The OMP Ultimate profile should 3D very well, but for a larger motor like Saito 91. A 50 SX w/ Tower 46 muffler running 13x4 (not wide) prop should pull it adequately.

Judging by the specs, it should 3D pretty well w/ the 50 SX. This thing's got the wing loading 1/2 of a trainer. It may just be what you are looking for.

I've got your fix...Try the Accel Hobby's Pitts S2C 40 profile bipe...I just bought one..The best thing is its an ARF..199.00...and VERY 3D capable...45in wing spans...its set up for a .46 to .52
2 stroke..or a 61 to 91 4 stroke...46.5in length...weight 4-5.5lbs...I was going to put in a OS 46AX that I have NIB...but at the last minute I decided to go with a new Magnum 91 4 str...The plane should be here today or tomorrow..Everything thing I've read about them is they are just incredible...they also make the Kantana 40 and a 70 size profile 3D planes...but I had to have the Bipe as the little brother to my Cermark 1/4 scale Pitts S2B w/ Zenoah G-26...I wanted a little throw in the back of the truck anytime flyer...and this is it..log onto accelhobby.com and check out the little profile 40 size Pitts S2C ARF...It's just what your looking for....Prop
