I am looking for an experienced opinion between the CGM Ultimate and the large DP Ultimate.
I fly my CGM Ultimate for shows and it does a really nice job in wild, violent manuevers. It does knife-edge everything, great elevators and harriers, but is quite difficult to torque-roll.
It's drawbacks are found when attempting to fly with precision. Verticals, both up and down, are maddening to maintain, even looping manuevers require extreme concentration to make round loops. Snaps are not easy to perform consistently to the left, right are pretty good.
Having an airplane that can perform all of the manuevers with more precision would really enhance the appearance of the show and presentation.
My real interest is whether or not the DP Ulitmate has truly addressed these issues. The propaganda says all it fixed, but I would like to hear consumers thoughts on this matter, especially if you have flown both of these airplanes.
THanks,
Mark

I've had only the Goldberg, but Ive read that the tail's incedence was removed to help with up and down lines. Other than that I think only overall size was changed and then wing area was increased a bit.
Anybody got both?

I have found the DP ultimate to be a pure pleasure to fly. There was nothing maddening about it. Uplines to a hover and a 40 foot tailslide were almost hands off. I am not able to torque roll yet, but the skilled pilots had it spinning like a top on their first attempts.
We have 4 of them at our field and evryone is very happy with them. I just wish they were bigger so I could put a 50cc gas engine in one.
I have never seen a negative post on one either.
