Default alieron/flaps for airplane

hey has anyone ever tried linking the alierons to the reciever to use as flaps on a hitec flash 5 for the fith channel?

I have With the flash 5. if you are planning on using it for some sort of 3d manuver it will not work so good because they are either on or off. at least from my experience. also i had accedently hit it a couple of times and it is a little scary when not expecting it..

i have the magic and was wondering if i could find a yharness with 2male ends and 1 female i could split the connection the the alieron and gear/flaps switch. would that work? how did u do it?

using channel 1 and 5 in the radio for my aileron servos and if i remember right it has to be in glid/acro setting . then you just set up flaps on the radio. I would have to do it again to remember exactly on the programming. there is rferences in the manual under GLIDER settings.. for some reason on mine that is the only way channel 1 and 5 will run ailerons without a Y. EX. (ch1 left aleron servo CH5 right aileron servo)

so pretty much i could use them as alierons then flaps at a flip of a switch

YEs i just checked mine it has to be in glid acro. and then the flap comes up on switch# 3 in the programming, and use 1 and 5 channels.and of course set percentacge of flap.. you should be set.
