I had one of those a few years ago, back before I knew what 3D was. Mine, like all my other planes was built on a budget, so it was not optimised at all. I had an ASP 1.08 on it and a standard 4 ch radio. Based on what I remember about the plane, and what I have learned since then, I would say that 3D is a possibility with that plane. The key to it, however, is to make it as light as possible, and only use as much engine as you need for good hovering. Mine was ballistic with that motor, and also was very fast. My guess is that either an os 91 fx or a saito 100 would be the right engine for this plane. I flew one with a saito 150 and all I can say is AWESOME! However, there is no way that plane would fly in high alpha with confidence. It was just too heavy for that. So I guess what I am saying is this. If you build it with 3D in mind, you will have a much better chance of being successful. If you build it per plans, and then overpower it like most people do, maybe not so good at 3D. Another major factor is cg placement. If you can get it tail heavy enough to stop rocking the wings, it will be a handful without exponential. My radio didn't have expo, so I had to have the cg fwd enough to be able to control it. I really want to build another one of these, and apply the principles I just mentioned to it.
