YS 110 oil? Synthetic?
I just ordered my new YS 110 today. I know everyone uses 20% nitro, but is the proper oil all synthetic? At lest for break-in? Thanks for any reply.

I made six calls to hobby stores around the U.S. Out of the six calls, I found two shops that had them in stock. So, I bought one. If you really want one, keep looking, they're around.

If you want a little extra kick, Cool Power 30% heli fuel works great. Lots of people I know use it, I use it and ysperformance recommends it due to the oil content. It is all synthetic.

RE: YS 110 oil? Synthetic?
Wild Cat killed one of my engines- went from cool power 30% heli to Wildcat 20/20 and smoked my piston and sleeve in two tankfuls. I learned my lesson. Granted it was a piped Evo cranking 17,000 RPM...
Your mileage may vary.
I have a break- in question for a Saito- please don't flame me, this just seems like the right place to ask. I have a 1.80 on the way, and it's my first four stroke. I dont know how to break one in- except to run it super rich at a medium throttle. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
I also have about 2/3 gallon of 15% omega- I think it is synthetic- but with a lower oil content then the 30% heli. Would this be an appropriate fuel to break in my engine with? Is 2/3 gal enough? I was going to bolt it to a test stand for the break in- then go to the 30% when its mounted on the airframe. Once again- thank you for your input!

First, Ys does recommend that there be synthetic oil in the fuel, and full synthetic is best. Just be sure not to run actual 4-stroke fuel in a YS-that's a no no
As for your break-in question. Slobbering rich is the key for these ringed engines. Also remember that the higher the throttle setting the more fuel that is going through the engine, so I would recommend a slobbering rich FULL throttle break-in if possible, but at least half will work, too. Just be sure to monitor the temps and don't overheat the engine.

RE: YS 110 oil? Synthetic?
Wildcat Heli fuel only has 16% oil last time I checked, even their 30% nitro version. Cool power heli fuel has 24% oil. Now I am not surprised that a engine is fried due to the low oil content.
Wildcat Heli fuel is touted as a smoke-free fuel so you don't hover helis in a cloud of smoke. Now I understand how they accomplish it: less oil residue. While it may be okay for a OS 32 2-stroke, I wouldn't use it in a YS, whose manufacture recommend at least 20% oil.

RE: YS 110 oil? Synthetic?
Guess i toss my 1/2 gallon of wildcat out! I thought it was more than 20%oil...i sure had a cool smoke system(It smokes quite a bit, lol, tuned right though..)Well i go check out some cool power, i only have a 1/2 gallon of the Cat in my YS so i dont think it will be any harm done....
Disregard the wild Cat fuel, unknown to me until now, it has 18% oil, not enough.
Thanks
Nealio
