has anyone had a sneak preview of this plane? the size and weight looks prfect for a YS-140L, although the price is a little steep at $399
SPECS: Wingspan: 78.75" (2000mm)
Wing Area: . sq in ( sq dm)
Weight: 11.5 - 12.5 lb (5.2 - 5.7 kg)
Wing Loading: . oz/sq ft ( . g/sq dm)
Length: 83.25" (2115mm
looks like a bigger matrix

I got my Tower Talk today and man does that thing look nice. I bet the price comes down like their Goldberg Sukhoi ARF I bought. I got it when it first came out for 399 now you can buy it for 299. Only time will tell but it sure looks very tempting.

Nice plane. Kinda chunky though, 11.5-12.5. Anyone know where the tank location is?
A better view of the tail movements/ailerons would be good too. I saw the icepoint marketed as a 3d plane, but it did not appear to have counterbalanced elevators, or even a big one at that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

there is one at my lhs now, I will go have a closer look at it this week and report back
From the manual it appears the tank is near or very close to the cg mark in the pics. I could be wrong but it looks like its downstream of the throttle servo. hmm...I just got a Super Tigre 3000 and my YS is also waiting...c'mon, someone must of have bought it by now!!

My local hobby shop has one as well, pulled it out of the box and was surprised at the size. Looks very well built, maybe a little heavy. I am thinking the OS 1.60 I have laying around would do well in this airplane. Are there any videos of this on the net yet? Hobby shop will part with it for $350.00....hmmm

Decided what the heck and picked this one up.
I did some quick weighing of the parts, my scale is not the most accurate and I believe it actually errors on the heavy side. All the weights taken were also in the plastic shipping bags, maybe worth a few oz's here and there.
L. wing - 21
R. wing - 21
Fuse - 43
L. Stab - 5
R. Stab - 5
Rudder - 3
Wing tubes (front and rear) - 10
Landing gear - 8
Wheels - 4
Wheel pants - 4
Cowling - 3
Misc parts (fuel tank, pushrods etc..) - 12
=139 oz
8.68 lbs = 8lbs 11oz
Looks like this will be tough to get under the 12.5 lbs using the OS1.60 I have.
I will try and snap some pictures later for anyone interested.

I need to weigh everything I have once I pull it out of another airplane, will do that tomorrow. Not sure how it will turn out. I will say that the construction is real nice, covering is perfect. I posted some pictures in my gallery, not sure how to put images in a post though...

thanks for the pics, looks like the fuel tank is right on the CG. Looks like a winner folks! Now I have to contemplate now, either my YS 1.40 or my Super Tigre 3000..hmm..

In case anyone is interested....
Just did a recalc on the weight and it looks like I will be able to come in at 11.14 OZ (+- 2 or so) all said and done. This is with 6v battery, four Hitec 5475's (Ailerons/Elevators), one Hitec 5925 (Rudder), one Hitec 81mg (Throttle), and an OS 1.60 with OMP sport pipe and a perry pump. Not too bad for an airplane this size, think it will perform quite nicely.
Now I wonder what prop to run, currently have an zpro 18x6, heard the zpro 20x6 does well?

A buddy of mine from my local club brought his to "show and tell" at the club meeting this week - it is freaking huge. He said it went together rather easily. He put a saito 150 in it - said it was over 12 pounds though.
