Can anybody help me, if I am doing a flick roll from the straight and level I apply full up elevator, whilst at the same time applying full rudder and aileron in the same direction. If I am starting from the knife edge position, I already have the rudder deflected so what technique do I use for flicking from this position? There is probably a simple explanation, however its cheaper to ask than trash my plane!!

You are talking about a snap roll sounds like to me. You still do the same thing from knife edge its just that the elevator is acting as the rudder since its vertical. Pulse the rudder to momentarily increase attitude and then full up elevator, and full rudder/aileron simultaneously. Get out of the elevator (just as you would the rudder in an upright positive snap) a little early and it should come to rest back on knife edge if your timimgs right.

I haven't actually done it with the rudder pulse to begin with, but just learning it, it sounds like a good way to get familiar with it. One more tip, momentarily release the rudder and get back on it when you finish. I've flown planes that will continue the snap (flick) once you let go of the aileron and elevator while still holding rudder.
