Gotta question about what prop to use for a 46 U Can Do with a Saito 82. I'm running an APC 14x4 W and someone at the flying field said that it was probably the wrong prop for it. Someone else mentioned to only run the props that Saito recommendes. Seems to me that the 14x4 W is just right. I did noticed however that the Saito manual recommends 11x10, 11x11, 12x9, 12x10N, and 13x9.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

i run a apc 14x4w on my .82 UCD too and i have also seen a bunch of posts with other people saying the same thing. I think you were just given the wrong information.

Whatever prop you run all that matters is that you don't exceed the recommended max RPM... Whatever prop keeps it under that mark at full throttle on the ground is fine...

I'd take Saito's prop recommendations and discard them- Scout around the net and you'll find
that ther real hot pilots are using the same prop you have for flying 3D and performing
high alpha manuvers. If you wish to try something a bit faster, get your hands on a Master Airscrew "Scimitar" 13 x 5 or 6,- but watch your speed.

I use the APC 14x4W on my Saito 82 in my UCD46. I think it's a great combination. It runs the plane fine with all the power you need. Thanks,
Barry

Thanks everybody for your replies. I'm heading out to the flying field again tonight to put some more time on it. This all started when my UCD was making some noise while flying. I thought it was just the drumming noise that some people have complained about that comes from the monokote/ large wing surface combination. Some of the guys at the club thought it was from using a prop that wasn't the right one. I think it mostly from the canopy starting to come off. The screws for the canopy had backed out and it was starting to come off. We'll see tonight. I think the 14x4 w should work just fine on it. Thanks again.
