Funtana 40
When I was flying that Funtana one of the carbon fiber tail struts came out. Does that plane really need them to keep the elevator from folding? If you know please leave a reply.
Thanks

YES.....Glue it back in, or make flying wires for it.

RE: Funtana 40
yeah definetly put it back in and i ever got one those Sullivan flying wire kits to go from the elevator to the rudder. That kit is really slick. I think everyone that has a funtana 40 should look at buying on those kits.

Yeah, I've got the Sullivan Kevlar wire setup on mine all aroudn the tail. The Kevlar option is included in the packages, the tail is rock solid now, and looks nice and scale! I am a little tailheavy even with a Saito 100 out front though I think that is from teh EHavy Duty Dubro Horns (which I think I will replace).

The tensile strength of the Kevlar is far more than you will need, in fact it is 6 times stronger than steel for a given weight, the tail will be in pieces before you need any more strength, and light is the point. . . it is on an airplane afterall.
That said, the steel cables look more scale, so for a scale application (unlike a Funtana) Kevlar might not be the best.
It is nice of Sullivan to include both though, you can take your pick between .032 Brass Plated Stainless Steel Cable and 120 lb. test Kevlar Aramid thread cable.
